We are all one...
Last night I dreamed with a good friend from high school. Haven´t seen him nor talked with him since 1996. I remember from the dream that I met him walking on the street and felt so happy to find him.
Last Saturday night, a good friend from college died. I heard he was shot by a drunk just because he didn't let him go into his bar since he was already closing. The last time we say hi to each other was like two years ago when I crossed with him at an elevator. I've been feeling naturally sad since Monday when I heard the news.
Humanity is like a big, big living organism. And we are all like its cells, we are connected to the same life network. Of course, if a cell that is close to you dies, it hurts more. But no matter which cell dies, we are all one.
Rest in peace JJ, and God bless the closest cells to you.

Information is not power...
What's the point of having the ability (and will) to gather tons of information if you are not able to turn it into problem solving ideas and actions?
Want it....
The thing about life... is that you always need to want something... And want it badly until you get it... There's a great risk in living life without a purpose; and there´s the tendency on human life to ditch your dreams once life gets tougher and thougher... The question is, how to overcome the issues without forgetting where you want to get after all?

Understanding People by Perspective...
You can easily tell people in two categories: Those who always see the glass half empty (GHE), and those who see the glass half full (GHF); arguments on this hypothesis generally say that being a GHF kind of person is not good because of the risk of being a conformist looser.
To fix that I think we can go even further with the Glass Paradox: GHEs, can also normally be split in generally-pessimists and never-satisfied-ambitious. GHFs, can as well be classified into annoyingly-conformists or positivists-progresists.
In terms of perception, I tend to detect a bigger happiness level on the positivists-progresists people and a less consistent amount of it in the rest. I know one cannot be happy all the time, but I think I've made a decision about the category I prefer (and try to be).

We're not alone...
"No man is an island, entire of itself; every man is a piece of the continent, a part of the main. If a clod be washed away by the sea, Europe is the less, as well as if a promontory were, as well as if a manor of thy friend's or of thine own were: any man's death diminishes me, because I am involved in mankind, and therefore never send to know for whom the bells tolls; it tolls for thee." John Donne "Devotions upon Emergent Occasions", no. 17 (Meditation) 1624 (published)
Human beings are heavily affected by solitude. From all the people I know, the most alienated ones are those who face or have faced a state on loneliness in their lives. On the opposite side, I observe that sharing your life with others tends to make you a better person.
We seem to be able to work just fine as individuals, but in order to achieve peak performance as humans we need to be connected... to the human network in fact.
PS: Why is then so difficult for us humans to realize that being bad has a terrible network effect that spreads through everyone around you?

Corporate Thought
I wonder what the results would be if company decides to have a schedule that includes a daily 45 minutes exercise session every day. The new hires could have an adaptation period of course, they can begin twice a week in the first month and add a session day per week each following month. All people I know who exercise, apart to seem healthier (which is the main reason your doctor tells you to exercise) they also seems to be more energetic, happier, less stressed, etc. All that must improve people's productivity better than any management witchcraft strategy or any expensive consultancy hired for the matter. The cost of implementing and maintaining the exercise programme should pay for itself when employees start to perform better and projects finally finish on schedule and with better quality.
